"You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give." --Winston Churchill

"Governments, companies and organisations of all kinds must turn their attention to the demands of living with, not dying of, AIDS." - The Economist, May 9, 2002.

Well, I've committed myself to a lofty goal and I need your help! I live in San Francisco, a community in which one out of every 50 people is living with HIV. I've decided to take action. I want to:

a) help keep those living with HIV alive by raising lots of money

b)spread the word that HIV/AIDS is still a huge problem in our country

c)improve and challenge myself in the process!

I am participating in a six-month training program for the Honolulu Marathon in Hawaii while I raise money for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

Over 60 million are infected by HIV. Zero have been cured. I think about this every time I start to feel lazy about getting out for my training runs...

I am taking part in the AIDS Marathon National Training Progem on behalf of those 450,000 Americans who have died from AIDS and the million plus who are living with HIV. Every single dollar I raise will help me reach my fundrasing goal - the more I raise, the more dollars will remain with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. I will finish the 30th Annual Honolulu Marathon on December 8, 2002...

-to honor those lost to the disease.

-to help keep alive those living with HIV

-because there are millions in the developing world who need access to treatment and HIV education.

I really hope you'll consider supporting me in this commitment with a tax-deductible donation. Your contribution, together with contributions from thousands of others, will have a serious impact on the fight to end AIDS. The money raised through this program will allow the San Francisco AIDS Foundation to continue providing vital AIDS services throughout the Bay Area to help stop the spread of HIV. Proceeds will also fund a NEW INITIATIVE to support vaccine preparedness and HIV treatment access in the developing world. No contribution is too small (or too big!) to show your support in the fight against AIDS. Every dollar helps KEEP PEOPLE ALIVE UNTIL THERE IS A CURE. I am depending on the generosity of friends and strangers to help me reach and maybe even exceed my pledge goal.

If you have already sponsored me, thank you very much!!! If not, please click on the "donate" link to your left.
